BIOLOGY LAB

OUL LAB INCHARGE : Mrs BHARTI

OUR BIO LAB IS FULLY EQUIPPED WITH ALL THE NECESSARY ITEMS WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ANY COMPLETE BIO LAB WITH ALL THE SPECIMENS WHICH CAN MAKE THE STUDENTS EASIER TO UNDERSTAND BOTH ABOUT PLANTS AND ANIMALS, IT HAS A LOT OF CHARTS AND COMPLETE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ALL THE PROCESSES IN THE DETAILED STRUCTURES. OUR LAB HAS ALL THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENTS FROM THE MICROSCOPE TO THE OVERHEAD PROJECTOR, WHICH CAN EASILY BE USED TO MAKE THE LEARNING FOR A CHILD EASILY.

EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT IN OUR LAB

For class III to VIII
Charts on various organisms, plants are shown to the children. The physiology and anatomy of various plants and animals including their way of living at their habitats is fully explained. The course at lab also includes various diagrams of the mineral cycles.

For class IX
In the IX class in the labs various parts of microscope and there functioning is taught. It is also taught how to use them. Habitats of different plants like those xerophytes and aquatic plants are taught with the specimens, which enable a pupil to understand more of it. Charts are shown of the cells of plants and animals. Prepare temporary studies of the animal cells (cheek cells) and plants cells (epidermal peel of onion and leaf epidermis showing stomata) Permanent studies of various stages of cell division (mitosis) are shown. Charts on anatomy of leaves, stem and root are shown so that to make students completely aware of the plants and processes. Photosynthesis and transpiration like processes are shown in lab. Experiments to show the O2 evolved during photosynthesis are carried out. Charts are shown on various organs of the human body.

For class X
As class is the most important class for a student that’s why a special care is taken for it. In this class various tests of sugar is carried out. Test for starch, fats, proteins are also carried out. Food chain is also taught carefully as it is an important part of the studies. Various specimens of plants, insects and animals are shown to the students. Pests and other insects’ studies are also carried out. Studies about various diseases are also carried out in the lab mentioning their effects and their causes too.

For class XI
In the XI class study of plant cells is carried out (Onion epidermal peel, epidermal peel of monocot and dicot plants) Opening and closing of stomata is explained n detailed manner. Study of animal cell is carried out further (cheek cells, muscle cells). Study of the effect of isotonic, hypo tonic and hypertonic solutions are carried out. Experiments are carried out to study the effects of temperature and chemicals on the permeability and the cell membrane. Identification and characterization of the plants is also done. Studies about the bacteria from root nodules are also carried out and animal kingdom is also explained carefully.

For class XII
This class is also very important for the students so here also complete care is taken for the development of the child. The experiments, which are carried out in this class, are separation of different photosynthetic pigments. Slides are shown on the mitosis process in the onions. Experiments are carried out to prepare temporary mount of T.S. monocot and dicot system of roots. Experiments are carried out to prepare temporary leg muscles of cockroach, to deduct the presence of glucose, acetone and albium in given example of urine, to prepare temporary slides of the spinal cord and to detect bacteria from curd and root nodules. Studies of different flowers are also carried out like Petunia, Hibiscum, and Althea etc. and there various parts are also shown. Experiments are carried out to make a temporary mount of TS\VS of the ovary of the flower studded to show the placentation, to dissect the value soaked ingeminated seeds to show its different parts, to prepare a strained human blood film and identify the blood cells, to demonstrate hemoglobin and crenation of R.B.C.’s from human blood and to study the external morphology of cockroach body.
